Thanks for Life &ndash End Polio Now previous     next

27 February 2010

The Rotary Clubs of Lincoln combined to collect money to fund the challenge of eliminating polio from the world by eradicating the disease from the four remaining countries where it still exists – Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Nigeria.

This is such a major and important enterprise, which can be difficult to explain to the younger members of our society, who, generally, have never experienced the debilitating effects of the disease.

Rather than try and provide an explanation here, it is suggested that the Thanks for Life section of the RIBI website be accessed for a fuller explanation(Thanks for life).

Vivienne discovering for herself how cold it is getting.

Thanks go to all who participated for braving the cold and doing their bit for Rotary and Thanks for Life.

The club meets on Mondays at
The County Assembly Rooms,
76 Bailgate, Lincoln.
